Why juliArt Became a Certified B Corporation

FIRST, WHAT IS A B CORP?

Certified B Corps are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

GIVE BACK TO SOCIETY

Starting in 2012, we collaborated with dermatologists on a project of giving a pro bono service to patients with scalp conditions. Until today, we have donated 200,000 bottles of dermatological shampoos to major hospitals and dermatology clinics across Taiwan and received positive feedback from patients with seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis.

HELPING THOSE IN NEED

We endeavour to provide a service that improves scalp conditions for those in need. We constantly visit orphanages and share tips on how to wash hair to keep scalp problems. We have been collaborating with over 30 different charity groups to provide hair washing guidelines and efficient natural shampoo. We will continue to carry on our work and give hope to those in need. We also encourage our suppliers, clients, and business partners to join these meaningful activities and plant a seed of B corp to their companies.

Education

juliArt focuses more than on scalp care, but also on the development of education, art, and culture. Since 2017, juliArt has collaborated with NGO to support education activities in rural areas. juliArt has become the partner of ‘Teach for Taiwan’ since 2017 for more than a million Taiwan Dollar fundraising and juliArt has devoted itself to dedicatedly support the eastern part of Taiwan from an educational perspective.

In 2018, juliArt launched a limited edition of juliArt products and donated the sales to Hualien County Growth Holistic Care Association for rural areas in education, they focus on educating and spending time with every child who’s in need.

We can’t change the background of children, but we can help them choose their own future." We collaborate with the Growth Association and support children by donating 20% of every shampoo sold.

Our founder, Eric, believes the key to charitable activities is how we can raise awareness and concern among the society, instead of the amount of donation. Raising funds is a way to create the business model to sustain families in rural areas to stay in their original hometowns rather than leaving for work. It is the ultimate way to help the families and enable their sustainability.

    juliArt has signed the “RE 10x10 Climate Manifesto” initiated by the Greenpeace organization. In 2025, juliArt will use more than 10% green energy as an alternative for environmental sustainability.

In order to encourage women to be more confident with self-identity, juliArt initiates the HerPride campaign. We inspire women to express themselves and become the icon of themselves
"Once and Forever".

  • HerPride film festival

    With the theme of "Classic, Defined by You", 5 female professionals were invited to share in the films their stories of achievements, self-confidence and living their lives to the fullest. These female professionals include artists, woodworkers, pastry chefs, doctors, illustrators, and directors. Their stories encourage every woman to be proud of herself and to shine on the stage of life.

  • HerPride events

    Advocating the concept of female power through interactive speeches and yoga workshops. Iconic artists and yoga teachers were invited to share their stories and encourage women to live out themselves throughout different life stages, such as career, marriage, and parenting. Through these events, we encouraged nearly 600 participants to put aside the shackles of stereotypes and be proud to be themselves.

  • HerPride sports activities

    We support women's sports activities including the international ladie's golf tour "CTBC Ladies Open", and fitness challenge activities "Challenge Women", etc. We hope to support the field of women's sports, encourage women to be themselves, and promote health and self-confidence. In addition to providing financial sponsorship, juliArt also provides free scalp examinations at Challenge Women and other events, so that event participants can understand their scalp attributes, for choosing appropriate scalp and hair care products. From there, every woman can take the first step to look after and love herself as she is.
