Reuse: No Pump Program Plants juliArt Forest

We are thrilled to announce that over 300 salon partners and countless supporters have joined us in our mission to reduce plastic waste. Thanks to the incredible support from juliArt salon partners, we’ve reduced 3,069 plastic pumps this season alone and planted over 60 trees. In fact, 25% of juliArt customers are now reusing their pumps!

The Plastic Problem is Far More Serious

Since the 1950s, humanity has produced a staggering 8.3 billion tons of plastic. Unfortunately, much of this plastic ends up polluting our oceans and natural environments. Tiny plastic particles, or microplastics, are now pervasive, contaminating the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. These pollutants inevitably make their way into our bodies, posing serious health risks.

juliArt’s Commitment to Reducing Plastic Waste

We believe in tackling plastic waste at its source. Upon reviewing juliArt product packaging, we identified that our pumps are made of composite materials, which are difficult to recycle. To simplify recycling, we launched a “No Pump Dispensers Project” and “NoPump Tree Planting Project” initiative in Taiwan. Removing pumps from juliArt 1000mL shampoo bottles, we aim to cut about 527kg of plastic waste and reduce carbon emissions by over 1,000kg each year.

The Initiative: #NoPump Tree Planting Project

For every 50 pumps saved, we plant one tree. This initiative has achieved remarkable success, owing to the collaboration with over 300 juliArt salon partners, 12 juliArt counters in department stores, and the operation of juliArt stores in Taiwan. We’ve saved 3,069 pumps and planted over 60 trees in Treedem. Moreover, every four customers, on average, have opted to reuse their pumps, showcasing a growing commitment to sustainability.
